FLAMING FLAMINGO (Laprise ’07)

(FLAMING FIREBIRD X PRIMAL SCREAM)

Tetraploid, SEV , 42" tall, 7" bloom, M-ML , 3 –way branching and 25 buds.  Unusual Form Variable Crispate.

FLAMING FLAMINGO was named by my friend, Nina Lapierre, of Massachusetts.  The color is brilliant orange with a raised glossy red eyezone. The petals are ruffled and sepals have a small ruffle.  The pollen is fertile, but a difficult to set pods.  As the day goes on, it starts to twist, turn and pinch.  Outstanding !  FLAMING FLAMINGO  $150

JOSH THOMAS (Laprise ’07)

(BIMINI TWIST X JOHN PEAT)

Tetraploid, 40” tall,  EV,  5”,  3-way branching, 36 buds

Josh Thomas is my second grandson. He’s a straightforward, creative, and very strong boy who has always stood out in crowd, even from his siblings. So when this seedling came into its own in our garden, I knew who I was looking at! The flower is rose red with a purple underlay, and a tri-colored edge on the petals- dark purple and white, and framed with a gold ruffle, with a lighter picotee edge on the sepals. This heavy-duty New England hybrid, with thick, broad, arching foliage, has been completely rust and disease resistant for a number of years. Strong, sturdy scapes with excellent branching support our newest work in complex color and design! If you’re hybridizing for dormancy and Rust/disease resistance, Josh Thomas will be a thrill to work with! Easily fertile both ways. $150 SF
